Thursday June 21, 2012 - Day #41 of our adventure

Finally, we are back on the road and I have access to Wi-Fi again!!  We left Sequin, TX this morning and arrived in Carlsbad, NM around 4 pm.  Will spend the night here and head for Albuquerque, NM in the morning.  Heading to the Grand Canyon and will arrive there sometime Saturday June 23rd.

While at Lester's sister in Seguin, TX we went to the Alamo and the River Walk in San Antonio on Monday.  Tuesday we went to the San Antonio Zoo and to Fort Sam Army Base.  Both Sue & John retired from the Army and they both worked at Fort Sam.  Yesterday we just rested and caught up on laundry so we could start out early this morning.

Following are a few pictures of the last few days when I was not able to post pictures.  Hope you enjoy!

Yard at Sue & John's house in Seguin TX
Humming bird feeder on the porch.  They had lots of humming birds around but guess Lester scared them off while taking this picture.
There were lots of pink flamingos at the zoo.  They were beautiful!!

Lester & Marilyn with the eagle.
Lester wanted to try this

Let me out of here!
You sure are brave there John!
Mother & baby at the zoo

Just relaxing in the sun
Waiting in line at the zoo with Sue & John
Picture with our friends at the zoo
The River Walk at San Antonio
The tower in San Antonio is something like the space needle in Seattle.  There is a restaurant at the top of it also.
Gold fish along the river walk
We took a tour boat down the river walk.  Some of the people on our boat.

More pictures from the boat
Lester & Sue outside a shop on our way to the Alamo
The chapel at the Alamo
There were beautiful trails at the Alamo.  This tree was an old tree when it was moved here.  I have never seen so many branches on one tree and they were growing across the sidewalk.
Harley, Sue & John's dog and Topper played until they were all worn out.  Time for a nap.
In Seguin TX right across the street from Walmart where we stopped this morning on our way out of town.
It is amazing how they cut the rocks back on each side of the road.
Almost to Carlsbad
Along the roadside in New Mexico.  You go for miles and miles and don't see a house in site.
